This list has a long history. It was originally developed by naturalists Howard and Mary Alice Evans, residents of Glacier View Meadows who first developed the Crellin Trail with signage. Their story is told in the book A Naturalist’s Years in the Rocky Mountains.

The list compiled by the Evans was developed and formatted for Web usage by Jim Chisholm on 6/27/2000, with numerous additions over the years.

Version 04/18/2024.

This version, sorted alphabetically by avian family, is the work of GVM Resident Terry Campbell, with verification by Morris Clark and David Robertson.

This list is available here in an editable MSWord format and a printable .pdf file format.

If you have additions to make, please let us know so we can keep the public version up to date.
